Our Steel Structures
Wide Span metal buildings are designed and engineered using a network of trusted suppliers, methods, and software. Learn more about what's inside a Wide Span building.
Cold-formed steel
All Widespan metal buildings use cold-formed steel (CFS). Different to hot rolled steel, CFS is shaped through cold working processes at room temperature rather than heating the steel. This cold forming of the steel means increased durability and precision making it an effective and long-lasting product for building frameworks.
Cold formed steel offers a myriad of benefits including:
- High strength-to-weight ratio
- Durability
- Corrosion, termite and pest resistant
- Precision and quality
- Cost effectiveness
- Speed of construction
- Low maintenance

Our steel structure utilize either a knee brace or no knee brace design dependent on the size and location of the building. The no knee Brace option provides a simpler structure without diagonal bracing at the joints. The knee brace design offers additional stability and reinforcement using knee braces, cross bracing, and flat haunch brackets, making it more rigid and resistant to lateral forces.
